ART NOUVEAU IN MEXICO CITY

When it comes to architecture, Mexico City is nothing if not eclectic. Here are some photos of a rare example of European style Art Nouveau design in the city. Located at Chihuahua 78 in Colonia Roma it was built in 1916 by the group Arquitectura Prunes. The building fell into disrepair following the earthquake of 1895, but was remodeled in 2006. Too bad they couldn't come up with a better idea than the prison-style window grates on the ground floor.
